SELF Journal - Goal Setting Planner | BestSelf Co. – bestselfcouk

Notebook / journal shown to me by Bill at The Skiff. Helps you organise projects per quarter (13 weeks) within the scheme talked about elsewhere on the Best Self site. Not sure this is quite for me, but is an interesting way of using pre-printed notebooks for organising. Bill has two projects on the go within his notebook.

autoEdit - Fast text based video editing app. Open Source.

Editing software that can take video or audio, run it through a transcription service (including instructions on downloading a speech to text open source project that it can integrate with). Be very interesting to try this on a few podcasts. I have a feeling the results won't be great without the paid IBM API the page mentions (and even then, may not be great) but it'd be interesting to see where the tech has got to.

Alternative to applicationize.me, a couple of people at The Skiff recommended this. AKA "This service creates a Chrome Application from the URL of a website. This means you can then run it as an 'app', when it's really Chrome in the background. And, you can set up a copy in the dock / desktop."

Stephen Toulouse explains to gamers why swastika symbols aren't allowed in the Xbox games he was head of moderating. A very clear, useful explanation of why some symbols are banned, whether people think they should be or not.
